Does anyone have any experience with this condition? Fatty deposits (from liver?) settle in the joints, restricting blood flow. The joint (usually hip) is damaged and often has to be replaced.

It can occur from injury, or use of steroids, but has also been linked to alcoholism. I consumed 6 cocktails (3 x 3oz. whiskey) a night for 5 years (give or take) before I recently quit. I have no gauge as to where that puts me.

Statistically, it’s a pretty rare condition (there are 10,000 to 20,000 cases a year, and say 50% can be attributed to factors other than alcoholism.)

Has anyone ever discussed this with their physician?

    Thanks
