I found out last night my wife is pregnant. The last 3 months I’ve been drinking about 1.5 gallons of Vodka a week.. Probably the worst ever.. Still functioning of course (working, not driving drunk ect..)
I got tanked last night after I found out, then drank a little this morning. Then I’m like enough is enough. It’s been 14 hours since my last drink. I had another heart to heart with my wife. Gave her my half empty handle of vodka and she flushed it..
I hope I can make this a life long recovery. This disease is terrible, its robbed me of a lot of time and money. I don’t want it to rob my family, or leave her a single mother.
I’m going to find a specialist for alchoholism on Monday. I still have all my medications and ect from last summers detox. Didnt have too many problems except some insomnia (I was drinking about the same before I quit then too).. So, I just need to read more horror stories for the next few days. Deal with the brain fog, and then get to the root of the problem with proper medical help.
Thanks for listening to my rant. And wish me luck.
