I’ve heard conflicting reports about whether an anti-anxiety medication known as Buspirone is effective for reducing opiate withdrawal symptoms. Clinical studies have suggested it’s efficacy. Luckily, I had a prescription already ready due to an unrelated condition.
I’ve been using it as part of my withdrawal treatment and it seems to be working. Withdrawal symptoms, at least, appear to be dramatically reduced. Although I feel sedated, it gives me an uplifting energy that allows me to do things throughout the day. I no longer feel completely drained. Pain is reduced. I’ve also been sleeping relatively well.
