Raymond, these are the things that you are not doing. Attending Alcoholic Anonymous meetings daily, put to together a network of recovering people for yourselg, obtain a sponsor to help work the 12 steps and 12 Traditions. These are the things that you are not doing, just for today, I will not take a drink, just for today I will pray for guidance from my higher power, just for today I have a program. These are things that you are not doing. What are the things that you are doing?

I also am thirty eight yrs old, I and my husband quit for three years, He started back, a yaer later I was drinking too. I try to just do it on weekends. I still would like to quit altogether. It felt so good to not be ashamed of anything I did. For the first time I felt free,I could talk to anyone and not feel that my life was somehow inferior to thiers. It is harder to quit after the first time, I guess because we failed once its harder to try again.I don’t want to drink ‘and I always feel guilty, so don’t feel alone. Keep picking yourself back up and starting over. We just have to be honest with ourselves and grow some backbone. Good Luck,

    Raymond,

Relapse is no easy thing. The causes of relapse are as many as there are relapsers. The answers are all the same. Stop drinking. What it takes to do that varies significantly from person to person. Some are able to do this by getting back into the program, others need professional help. You are worth getting it right. Stop beating yourself up and get whatever help you need.

If you do need professional help I would strongly suggest that you get hooked up with a Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist, they are the experts in dealing with relapse sucessfully. If you need help in finding one just email me and I would be glad to let you know who might be in your area.

    Raymond,

My husband went to a place for his alcohol. Please give my husband a call or e-mail. his e-mail – [email protected]. I am telling you the place that my husband went to was a miracle. It is another alternative for addictions. No meetings to AA or any cravings for alcohol. Please if you are interested in hearing about his treatment, get a hold of my husband and I know we can help you. My husband drank for 40yrs, I did not think for a million years that he would ever stop drinking. He has not had a drink for 1 and half years know. I am very proud of him. I can only say one thing please try to think about it and if you would really like to hear more about it please give him a call. I know he would feel the same way. He is working right know that is why he is not the one telling you about his story. He can tell you more about is journey with the alcohol and being sober. I am sorry I am not a writer, my husband usually is the one that writes.

    God bless you.
    catfish’s wife.

No Big mouth! Raymond is not married to Catfish. Are you try to say that I am not honest? Maybe you should look in the mirror!

    Hi Catfish,
I think only you can answer the question as to why you went back out after 3 years sober. Relapse is a state of mind. I know that in my case if I don’t maintain any kind of support and try to work the 12 steps of AA on a regular basis, my sober time may be for nill and relapse inevitable.
AA and the 12 steps happen to work for me, because it’s not only about being sober, it’s about changing my life in a more positive direction.
If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to e-mail me.
I will help in any way I can.

This thread is getting confusing. Did Raymond come back as catfish, after lapsing for three years, then get married? Is this confusion of the time/space continuum a side-effect of electromagnetic and bioelectrical modalities?
