Well day 6 now, still clean as a whistle and couldn’t be prouder or happier with myself. I have to go to court in about half an hour’s time for the charges I caught before I was sober. I’m hoping being sober now, and being clean and wanting to be that way will hopefully sway the judges mind and they’ll let me go on supervision of probation. To be honest I think probation would be one step closer for me stayin clean. I think havin to be tested weekly and goin to talk to a counseler every week would be a good idea and maybe they can even help me with finding a suitable NA or AA or hell even both if I can. I do appreciate everyon’es words of wisdom and encouragement. Everyone has been a bigger help then they know and I want to thank everyone for it. Without this I think it would be a lot harder for me because I look foreward to talkin to everyone and listenin to there stories of recovery and it gives me hope because for the logest time I didn’t know I had a problem and I hurt a lot of people because of drugs and now people are starting to trust me again and I have hope in myself for a change ^_^September 26, 2013 at 3:31 pm#163749AnonymousInactive

Court dates suck huh? Everyone I know that’s had to go always waits and waits. Well, at least it gives you more time to stay clean and prove how serious you are. Good luck.September 27, 2013 at 1:08 pm#163750AnonymousInactive

Glad to hear you are willing to do “whatever it takes”. Just a thought, from someone who has dealt with the court system a few times.
I didn’t read your other post so don’t know what your charges are, BUT, I would highly recommend AA/NA meetings for you, because they help tremendously. But when you go, get a paper signed saying you were there and take it to court with you. It will only show you really are working on your recovery.
Some people only go to meetings to get the paper signed (court-ordered a lot of times) and they miss the valuable help they could be getting. But if you’re going because you WANT their help, get signatures (and of course phone numbers to call when you have a bad day).
Even the hardest judges and DA’s I’ve seen have been willing to give someone another chance when they show that they are trying. And I agree about the probation….I’m on it for 3 more years. I was supervised for 2 of them. I want to stay clean FOR ME today, but I still have bad days and knowing that if I screw up and violate my probation I will go to PRISON, helps me to keep those bad thoughts at bay!
Good luck and keep up the good work!
