At the end of my drinking and drugging career I used to use in the kitchen. I had this shelf underneath cabinets and that’s where I kept my cocaine and a beer. At all times. I had no one left to use with, I was completely alone. I had a one-word vocabulary and that was “Wow.” I would just walk around my apartment and say “Wow” every other minute or so. I would walk from my kitchen to my front door where I had a peephole and a chair propped up against under the doorknob and I would look out my peephole and then walk back to the kitchen. take another drink, do another line, say “Wow” and then walk right back to the peephole. This went on for hours.
I used to keep a jar of Vicks Vapor Rub in every room because my nose hurt so bad. I had one by the computer, one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom, all displayed so anyone could see them. I would wipe it off my nose to do another line and then put it back on afterwards.
My purpose for this thread is just to tell myself, really, that I am done with that life and my life now, with 1 1/2 years back is better than I could have expected. Just really great! Sobriety is the way to go!
