Hi everyone…I’m very concerned about one of my best friends. I’ve known him for several years now and I know that he has recreationally used drugs (i.e. ecstasy, oxys/roxys, cocaine, etc.) for the past 10 years or so. He is 28. It never seemed to be much of a problem because he only used them every once and a while, like once a month or so when out partying or whatever. For the most part, he has always been pretty straight and I have only seen him drunk or high from smoking weed(I think).
About 2 months ago, he moved from NJ to FL. Since moving there, he has told me that pills, particularly Roxys, are much cheaper there than NJ and easier to get. He also admitted that for the past couple weeks he has been taking them almost everyday. I don’t really know the dosage or anything. I think he has been taking them because he has been having a really hard time adjusting to the new place and finding a good job. I think maybe he is depressed. Anyway, I am very worried about him and I don’t want him to fall into a dependence on them. How long does it take for people to become addicted to pills like roxys? Should I be concerned? I don’t know anything about helping addiction.. :/ Thanks
