I am so grateful for all who have participated in my sobriety this past year. I am thinking back to my last drunk :friday:– a pathetic evening in front of the TV with my beer and martinis and whatever else was there. I was just completely checked out of life. I didn’t care about anyone or anything unless I needed something from them, or needed them to help me create drama to fill the void in my life.
I am thankful for my psychiatrist :hypnotize at the time, who, speaking of my depression, told me that there was only so much the medication and therapy could do. I needed to take action in order to get better. I don’t know if she knew then about my drinking (she probably did), but I applied what she said to both problems, addressing the most important, drinking, first.
Thank you to all my 12 Step National Meetings friends who have played such an important part in my recovery! I only hope I can repay the favor someday!

Thanks all! I had a great day yesterday. I went to a meeting last night and found that I shared the 1 year b-day with another person in the group! It was cool to hear what everyone shared about their 1 year b-days and what a big deal it is. I have to admit I was a little sad, though, (having just moved here two months ago) because it feels weird not to celebrate the year with people I sobered up with, but I’m so grateful I found a good home group here.
I was way more emotional than I thought I’d be. Especially considering I haven’t been feeling too many emotions lately. So today, I feel slightly hungover. Thank God it’s just an emotional hangover and not a boozy one!
Day 366 is pretty good, too!
