Hi, I’m new to this forum and have a question.
First of all, I’ve been a 5 liter a week wine drinker for some time, with periods of abstinence every few months ranging from several days to 2-3 weeks. A month ago I began to have a vertigo-like feeling in my head–not dizziness, but a weird sensation in my brain that made me anxious. Anyone else experience this?
The weird head feeling and anxiety was enough to make me want to quit. I was abstinent for 13 days until I caved in last nite and drank 4 glasses of wine. I’ve read that after about 2 weeks, the brain begins to repair itself and produce new neurons. I’m not asking for a medical opinion (unless there’s a doctor out there), but did my drinking last nite undo the healing that took place the past 13 days? I want to return to abstinence today and pick up where I left off, and I don’t feel too badly, but I’m hoping that the healing that took place during my abstinence hasn’t been undone.
Also, my main problem during the past 2 weeks has been irritability. Any idea when this subsides? I exercise at the gym several times a week and take vitamin supplements, but I still feel irritable.
I’ve very recently had a complete physical and blood work, and everything was good–so I don’t feel the need to see a doctor.
