My cousin died in a car crash last week. She was 54. She was in the back seat of a car driven by her husband of 30 plus years. He had been drinking whiskey. He lost control of the car on a gravel road.
He and another passenger had minor injuries. He drove drunk frequently. They live in rural America, not many cops. Nothing ever happened. Until last week. He may face criminal charges.
But no jail cell could be worse than living with the fact that you killed your own wife while driving drunk. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.:c020:
There but for the grace of God, go all of us. God help us all, one day at a time, stay sober.
