Yes weekends are bad for me too, however I try to make as many plas as I can to fill up the days, Tomorrow we are going 4 wheeling and then my xhb is taking us all out to dinner to celebrate my daughters birthday which was last week (15)
Sunday is FOOOOOOOT BALL GO BILLS! On sunday’s I ditch my diet (trying weight watchers to get the rest of this weight off) and I make a big crock pot of Chili and nacho’s and I stay in sweats all day and do nothing but watch football. My xhb and his brothers/girlfriends, sister and her husband all come over. They do all bring their own beer but it hasn’t bothered me so far.
So that’s my weekend. I also bought the new book that came out “IF I did it” by The Goldman’s ( No flames please, I wouldn’t have purchased it had OJ won his case to keep the proceeds, instead they are going to the goldman’s and proceeds are setup to go to their non-profit organization for crime victims)
So that will keep me busy at night as I love to read.

Sorry SeaHawks fan here, although the Dolphins come in a close second.

I started the weight watchers thing about 3 weeks ago. My SO had been doing it for about 4 months and since I was cooking that way anyway I decided it wouldn’t hurt to go. I put on over 40 pounds in sobriety. I quit drinking and smoking at the same time. Then had a serious accident. Then got a sedentary job. It is amazing the difference that much weight can make on how one feels. Prior to getting sober I was very fit. Had to be as a paramedic (since I felt I had to make sure I could out do the guys to prove a woman could do the job). I had lost 10 pounds by just changing my cooking prior to doing the weight watchers. I have lost nearly 10 more in the 3 weeks I have been doing it. We now have 6 of us from our homegroup that are going. It is kind of neat to have the support extend past the rooms of A.A.

Yes, I realize this is off topic.

Here is my response to the topic at hand.

I am going to pack for a week at the coast. I think it is supposed to be stormy but that is okay, I think the coast is beautiful when it is stormy. I hope to get some great pictures. Going to help a friend move a bed. She doesn’t have a truck and I do. Taking my oldest daughter to take her driving test tomorrow. Glad to see she has finally got the courage and self confidence to try taking it. She is 22 now and went through a horrible period of low self esteem and depression (I think the pot and such contributed greatly to it). Then on Sunday, watch some football and piddle around the house.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

In early sobriety I absolutely HAD to make plans and stay busy on the weekends. I filled my time with meetings and family plans, cooking, watching movies, and reading. I didn’t learn about 12 Step National Meetings until I was a year sober or I’m sure I would have been living on here as well.

For this weekend, I am still on my honeymoon in Colorado Springs so I don’t have to worry about not having anything to do LOL! We have been blowing and going since we got here. Last night I had the pleasure of meeting a fellow 12 Step National Meetings, attending a meeting and having dinner afterwards. I love 12 Step National Meetings!!!!

For all you newcomers, hang in there and know that it gets easier the longer you go. Keep posting here for support and we’ll help get you through it!

    Hugs,
    Kellye C. (formerly D!)

Since giving up work last year to be a carer for my mother in law, my weekends are pretty much like any other day. I could do some washing, some hoovering, more importantly some much needed tidying up or I can go on 12 Step National Meetings. Hmmm guess which one I’m choosing. Well my life sounds a bit boring but whilst I’m too untidy to call myself a homemaker and don’t get up to much, I really like my quiet life and my new 12 Step National Meetings addiction so thanks to everyone here. Thankyou 12 Step National Meetings, I don’t think I’ll be drinking this weekend whatever else I do!
