I have been trying to stay off crack but cannot do so for any length of time.
I went to rehab about 8 years ago and have made a serious effort in 12-step programs since. However, their only real short-term solution to handling cravings is to pray and eat junk food. Not great for someone who does not believe in god and hates junk food.
A friend at one point suggested that I stay over at his place when cravings hit. I never did because 12-step meetings warned against depending on another person for your recovery. Now, I think it might have been a good idea.
What do you do? How do you resist the urge to use?
