I have yet to see a person relapse and their life get better. If you are contacting a sober community, be it AA, NA, 12 Step National Meetings, or any other, it is hard for me to believe that alcohol or drugs (or other addictions) are not negatively affecting your life. If you were truly happy with who you are and where you are, I doubt you would be coming back to announce you relapsed.
I have been clean and sober long enough to see many, many people relapse and then come back to a sober community. I always ask these people the same question – “So what are you doing different this time?” That is my question to you. Also if anyone has come back and done something different that has helped you stay sober, what was it?
